What we care for
Scholarships
The Foundation offers scholarship and education grants to students, irrespective of religious affiliation, class, gender, and ethnicity to enable them to receive qualitative Catholic education in Shanahan University, Onitsha. The scholarship scheme carters for indigent students who may drop out because of lack of funding. The following scholarship schemes are offered:
- Archbishop Valerian Okeke Scholarship: Complete tuition coverage awarded to the first 500 students to register at the University. After the initial take-off, this scholarship will be on need-based cases as recommended by the School Authorities.
Research
The Shanahan Education Foundation (SEF) raises funds to sponsor researches in its area of interest- human development and inculcating values that build up the society. These research grants enable scholars from the university to delve deeper into researches in the university and elsewhere.
General University Endowment Fund
Donations are received for general endowment of the University fund. Earnings and gains from the general university endowment helps keeping tuition cost down and enhances the University’s ability to operate more efficiently without fluctuation due to yearly tuition income disparity. Gift of any size can be made to the general endowment. A minimum donation of Twenty thousand dollars ($ 20, 000) or its Naira equivalent is required to be named as a benefactor of the University Endowment Fund.
Fellowships, Professorial Chairs, Distinguished Chair, and Visiting Chair
Each of these endowments will enable the University to recruit and retain the very best brains available globally in every area of specialty. The endowment will provide a pool of funds to defray or supplement a designated professor’s salary, as well as his or her research and travel expenses. Minimum funding requirement is One hundred Thousand dollars ($ 100,000) or its Naira equivalent per annum.
Infrastructure, Buildings, Facility Maintenance
Individuals, foundations, companies, and groups are invited to take up the cos of endowing a building, maintaining the facility, or purchasing assets for the University in memory or honor of their loved ones. Funding is as at the time of implementation.
